In 1884, Claude Monet painted 38 canvases between Bordighera and Dolceacqua. Carlo Bagnasco, the president of today’s Fondazione Pompeo Mariani, whose garden attracted the great artist, takes us on a tour of these places which, as Monet himself wrote, “seem to have been made especially for en plein air painting”.
